Ukraine is situated in the south-eastern part of Central Europe and has its own territory, government, national emblem, flag and anthem. Ukraine today is a country of 46 million people, most of whom are ethnic Ukrainians. It borders on Russia, Byelorussia, Moldova, Slovakia, Roumania, Hungary and Poland on land and Russia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Roumania and Turkey on sea. The main Ukrainian river is the Dnieper. It is one of the longest European rivers and one of the republic's main sources of hydroelectric power.

Dnepropetrovsk Medical Academy
Dnepropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) - Center of Education, Science and Culture of highly industrial region of Ukraine,Dnieper. The city of Dnepropetrovsk is is the main Industrial city of Ukraine.Above than 40% industry of Ukraine is loacted in Dnepropetrovsk. It is known as the business city of Ukraine.The city is highly developed and well established in all aspects of life. Dnepropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) is one of the oldest higher educational institution of Ukraine having 4th (the highest) level of accrediation in Ukraine. Dnepropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) was founded on September 15, 1916 on the basis of Ekaterynoslavsky higher female courses Institute. Institute acquired the status of State Academy in 1920 and it was confirmed again to Dnepropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) in Ukraine in 1994 by th order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 224 dated 20 April 1994. From the very beginning administration of the Academy made huge efforts to provide all the necessary facilities, curricula development, Manuals’ edition aiming to secure sufficient education process for the students.
There are 22 departments with 39 specializations available for students to choose the Faculty due to their future medical profession. Up to present time the Over the years of existence the Academy has trained around 10 000 international students from 30 countries of the world. The Academy participates regularly in international education exhibitions, upgrades partnership relations with foreign medical universities and research centers located in Europe, Asia and North America. It also goes into deep cooperation with embassies of different countries and international organizations. Exchange programs are offered for students to go for practice to the USA, France, Japan, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Holland and other countries. The Academy in such manner is aiming to fulfill the education process and meet the international standards as it is called by the present time.
There are 7 faculties provided for students – First Medical Faculty, Second Medical Faculty, Dentistry Faculty, First International Faculty, Second International Faculty, and Postgraduate Faculty. Currently 4500 national students and 1333 foreign students are studying at the Academy.More than 500 lecturers from 22 departments are involved into the studying process of training medical students at the Academy.
The Academy campus occupies an area of 85 hectares, 8 teaching buildings with totally 608 lecture halls and laboratories. There are 7 hostels of 56000 square meters where 2900 students are living. There is also Sport Complex, Vivarium, Sanatorium, Healthy Camp, Scientific Library, Technical Center and 2 Museums.
