About Ukraine

Ukraine is situated in the south-eastern part of Central Europe and has its own territory, government, national emblem, flag and anthem. Ukraine today is a country of 46 million people, most of whom are ethnic Ukrainians. It borders on Russia, Byelorussia, Moldova, Slovakia, Roumania, Hungary and Poland on land and Russia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Roumania and Turkey on sea. The main Ukrainian river is the Dnieper. It is one of the longest European rivers and one of the republic's main sources of hydroelectric power.

Kharkiv National Medical University (KNMU) was founded in 1805 as part of the medical faculty of Kharkiv University. It is one of the oldest and leading medical higher institutions of Ukraine and the former USSR. KNMU is one of the foremost Medical Universities in Ukraine and is a prestigious and well recognized medical university in the world. It is also a member of the International Association of Universities (UNESCO).

It is listed in the WHO directory of Medical schools and the IMED directory of the USAThe university has been actively training medical students and medical specialists from all over the world since 1961. Hostels

There are 6 Hostels.
All hostel rooms are furnished and vary in size and number of conveniences.
Dormitory rooms at hostel can accommodate 2 or 3 students to a room.
In the hostel each room is attached with kitchen is provided for students to cook food to their own taste. Students will have to arrange their own kitchen utensils.
