About Ukraine

Ukraine is situated in the south-eastern part of Central Europe and has its own territory, government, national emblem, flag and anthem. Ukraine today is a country of 46 million people, most of whom are ethnic Ukrainians. It borders on Russia, Byelorussia, Moldova, Slovakia, Roumania, Hungary and Poland on land and Russia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Roumania and Turkey on sea. The main Ukrainian river is the Dnieper. It is one of the longest European rivers and one of the republic's main sources of hydroelectric power.

V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University

V.N. Karazin Kharkov National University is one of the oldest universities of Eastern Ukraine,It was established on 29 January 1804. It is the second oldest after the Polish University of Lviv in modern Ukraine within its present borders. VN KARZIN KHARKIV NATIONAL UNIVERSITY is the only university in Ukraine that has trained and employed three noble laureates.

The university is distinguished by its 24 internationally recognised scientific schools and it has the biggest potential and base for training high skilled personnel in the left bank Ukraine.
